Book of Dragons

Created by Robert Burke

Book of Dragons is not just a card game, but a game system. It includes a deck of large, tarot-sized cards, beautifully illustrated by world-renowned artist Kerem Beyit. Think of it as a modern deck of playing cards, but instead of playing poker, blackjack, and other traditional card games, a host of designer games utilizing a plethora of modern design mechanics can be played.

Latest Updates from Our Project:

US/Canada Fulfillment Update
over 5 years ago – Wed, Jan 02, 2019 at 10:59:58 PM

Hi Book of Dragons backers!

I'm hoping everyone is getting ready to enjoy their New Year's celebrations, or for backers in Europe, the party is well underway.

We have a quick fulfillment update, primarily for US and Canadian backers.

US/Canadian Fulfillment

The orders for the US and Canada have been split into two separate groups... One set of shipments is coming from Quartermaster Logistics and the other set is coming from our warehouse here in St. Louis.

The shipments coming from Quartermaster are folks who ordered the deluxe edition with no add-ons, which represents about 60% of the orders.

The shipments coming from our warehouse are folks who ordered any other combination of retail editions, tuck boxes or add-ons.

The shipments from our warehouse have almost entirely been sent out. They were going out last week in and around the holidays. We'll also be assembling tracking information soon and providing it when possible. We don't want to mis-send tracking info. Some backers have even reported receiving the game.

The Quartermaster shipments have not gone out and we'll update you when they have.

That's it for now! We hope to have additional updates on other regions soon.

Thanks,

Alex

December Fulfillment Update
over 5 years ago – Wed, Dec 12, 2018 at 07:22:42 PM

Hey there Book of Dragons backers,

A quick update for you on the various regions for fulfillment and where those orders are.

US/Canadian Fulfillment

We just received an update today from R&L Carriers, who is handling the shipping here in the US. The games are currently on a train, due to arrive in the railyard in St. Louis on Sunday, December 16. Generally we receive those containers a day or two later than when they hit the railyard, putting us at a likely in-our-hands date of December 18th. However, these orders still need to go to Quartermaster Logistics for fulfillment. Based on the holiday timing messing things up, we'd anticipate this not actually going out to backers until early next year.

The same timeline applies to Canadian backers with the added caveat that we're unsure how the postal strike will affect timing.

European Fulfillment

The games are on a boat heading to Fulfillment Europe in Germany. The estimated arrival date we have for those games at this stage is January 10th at the port. In our experience, it takes around a week or a little more than that for the games to get from the port to Fulfillment Europe.

Australian/NZ Fulfillment

These games are heading to VR Distribution in Australia. They've arrived in the country and the forwarder is currently hashing out a couple of final details with customs before they make their way to our fulfillment company. Oddly enough, these may be the first games to be shipped and received.

Asian Fulfillment

Most countries in Asia will be handled by VFI Asia. They already have the games but are experiencing a bit of a backlog. When we have a better ship time, we will pass that information along.

Other Regions

These are most likely to be sent out directly from our warehouse here in St. Louis. We will provide individual tracking numbers as we have them.

Thank you for your patience in the meantime. We will be sending out more updates as the games are actually fulfilling to backers.

Happy holidays and all the best.

Shipment/Fulfillment Update - Racing the Christmas Clock
over 5 years ago – Fri, Nov 09, 2018 at 12:40:07 AM

Hey there Book of Dragons backers,

A quick update on where fulfillment is at in regards to this project.

US/Canada Fulfillment

After a lengthier time than expected obtaining confirmed space on a cargo ship, we have a booking and the games are finally making their way to the US. Our current estimated date to receive them is December 13th here in the US. That is only an estimate at this stage and it's very possible that there could still be some minor delays in the process on its way to our shores. We're hoping those are kept to a minimum however, because we very very much want this game to make it to your homes in time for Christmas.

Your games will be fulfilled using Quartermaster Logistics and once they arrive here, they have to be turned around and sent to their facility. We're hoping for a quick turnaround on those shipments, but it is highly likely that their facility will be slammed at this time of year. We'll have more details for you as we get closer to that fulfillment time next month.

Canadian games will also be coming from Quartermaster Logistics, likely taking a little longer to get to backers than US copies. Our best guess is these games will get there sometime early next year.

Australia/NZ Fulfillment

Your games will likely be able to be fulfilled slightly sooner or on a comparable timeline to US copies. That's because they are on the same boat as another project of ours, City of Gears, due to hit port in Adelaide on December 9th. When our fulfillment partner there has the games in hand, we'll let you know here.

Other Regions

We don't have good information for other regions at this stage, including Europe. It is very likely those copies will not arrive to you until early 2019. When we have more specific information on each individual region, we'll pass it along.

That's all for now. We again apologize for the delays on this project. We are doing our best to ensure copies get in your hands as soon as possible. We thank you for your patience in the meantime.

If you have any questions or concerns in the meantime, please email us at [email protected] with "Book of Dragons" somewhere in the subject line.

 Thanks and all the best,

Shipping/Fulfillment Update
over 5 years ago – Tue, Oct 16, 2018 at 01:38:13 AM

Hey Book of Dragons backers!

Some good news to share with you!

Fulfillment Ready to Roll

After some unfortunate delays and a lot of hand wringing on our end, we have been informed by the manufacturer that production has finally wrapped on Bushido and those games are ready to go. That means, with Book of Dragons already ready, things are now able to move forward with both projects.

We're currently in the process of arranging cargo shipping for this order. Generally, it takes about 4-5 weeks for water shipments to make it from China to US shores. From there, it should be another couple of weeks to get the games into US backer's hands. That puts us around late November to early December.

International fulfillment is still being coordinated and we should have more details on that in the next week or so, including a more specific timeline.

That's it for now! Feel free to shoot any questions to [email protected]. I'd advise including "Book of Dragons" in the subject line so we know which project you're asking about.

Book of Dragons Production/Shipping Update
over 5 years ago – Tue, Oct 02, 2018 at 01:31:48 AM

Hey Book of Dragons backers!

An update for you on a couple of fronts.... We'd call it good news/bad news.

Production Update

This would be the good news side of things.

We've been informed by our manufacturer Rainbow that the game has finished production and is ready to ship.

Getting you the games is much easier when they exist!

Shipping Update

This one's on the slightly bad news side of things, but hopefully this will make sense with some explanation.

At the same time as Book of Dragons was being manufactured, we had another one of our games Bushido in production. As both games were set to finish within a few days of each other, the plan was to ship them together in one container. Book of Dragons has been transferred to the other manufacturer in preparation for that.

That is still the plan, but there have been some unexpected delays with the other side of that project. We have been told 10/7 is the new estimated completion date for Bushido. When that is done, both should be ready to ship together and ship quickly.

We'll have a more specific sense of timelines once this has officially hit the water, but we wanted to keep you informed along the way.

Thanks,

Alex - Grey Fox Games
